Fittings, Alterations, and Tips:Timeframe:
Brides: 10-12 weeks All Others: 8-10 weeks There is a rush fee for alterations within a two-week time frame (meaning if you call Sew Glorious and need alterations within two weeks, there is an extra charge.) |

What to bring:
Always bring the following to your fitting: -The shoes you are going to wear with your dress. Once your dress is hemmed, you really can't change your mind, so make sure the shoes you bring are the shoes you absolutely can wear and will want to wear all day long. (Sew Glorious will not be held responsible if you wear shoes to your final fitting that are different from those used during your Initial Fitting or if you don't wear shoes during your fitting.) -Any undergarments/foundations you are going to wear with your dress- such as a bridal slip or Spanx. If you are anticipating that you might need cups placed in the dress, no worries! I can support you (see what I did there?). I do have cups is sizes B, C, D, and DD. -If you are wearing a particular headpiece and you want to make sure it "works" with the alterations, feel free to bring that along. Although, Sew Glorious does make some gorgeous veils! Check them out here! |
What not to bring:
Consider this: -Special occasions are emotional! Many people want to be a part of your experience and if they've been married, want to be married, have ever (or never) been to a prom, or have watched "Say Yes to the Dress," then get ready to hear their opinions! For your own peace of mind, I kindly ask you to be selective as to who you bring with you to your fitting. -For everyone's safety, please leave small children at home. Sometimes there are stray pins on the floor, scissors on the table, and lots of other items that seem enticing, yet are potentially dangerous to the little ones. Plus, it is hard for them to wait while dresses are being pinned. You will be less distracted and be much more relaxed if your adorable cherubs are not in tow. |

Measurements:
-Sew Glorious may measure you at the time of your fitting and alter your garment according to those measurements. Should your weight change, additional alterations will be required. No worries... Sew Glorious will comply, yet please understand, you may be charged some reasonable additional costs. -Sew Glorious is willing to measure you (free of charge...yes... even if you don't choose to have your dress altered by Sew Glorious) so you can purchase a dress online. Be forewarned... not all online manufacturers are reputable. The only online manufacturer I recommend is Azazie because of their custom sizing service and the quality of their dresses. Just keep in mind that you DO have to make sure the measurements you send them are correct because they create the dress according to the measurements you send them. |
