About Sew Glorious-
Sew Glorious is located just outside of Lancaster in Conestoga, PA, and is owned by me... Fran Miller! I specialize in custom alterations and designs for brides, bridesmaids, mothers, prom, pageant, and even guests who are wearing formal occasion garments. I also create custom-made veils.
I learned to sew during my childhood summers in a local 4-H club in Chester County, PA. My first sewing project was creating a pair of slippers from a set of washcloths! As the years passed, I honed my skills by progressing through the 4-H classes each summer and by sewing in my free time. While trying on bridesmaids dresses for a friend's wedding in Laurento's Bridal Shop in West Chester, PA, the shop owner (Paulette Laurento) mentioned she needed a seamstress. I was interviewed, given the job, and Paulette began teaching me all she knew about altering wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. More than thirty years later, I alter, restore, and design dresses and veils for brides, bridesmaids, proms and pageants, mother of the bride/groom, flower girls, and guests attending formal occasions. I will also alter your engagement photo and rehearsal dinner garments. I actually offer services before, during, and after your wedding. Before your wedding, I can alter your dress or create something custom. During your wedding day, I offer a Day of Dressing Service where I become your Bridal Assistant. That means I go to your venue, steam all of the dresses, take care of any last minute mending needs, fluff you before you walk down the aisle, and assist with carrying your dress and arranging it for pictures. And of course, I bustle your gown for you!!! Wedding planners and photographers are always happy I am there. After your wedding, I offer Gown Preservation services. Your dress can be a treasured keepsake for you to pass down to future family members. Last, my biggest offering is not a "feature" or "service." It's the feeling you experience when you trust your gown to someone cares about you and who continually works to refine her skills as a bridal seamstress. My goal is to honor you with a positive alterations experience. I want you to leave me feeling and looking fantastic. That's Sew Glorious! |
