The Process

The alterations process begins 8-10 weeks prior to the date of your event. When it's time, you will receive an email with a link to choose the date and time that works for you.

Bring any foundational garments you might wear with your dress and don't forget to bring your shoes!!! Sew Glorious has cups should you need them (if you are larger than a DD, please let her know).

When you get to the fitting studio, we'll discuss your vision for your day, you'll change into your dress and we'll get started! 

The Cost:

Alterations for Bridesmaids, Mothers, Proms, and Pageant gowns start at $250.
This includes a basic 2-3 layer hem, taking in the sides of the gown, and cups.
Other alterations, custom add ons, or gowns that have complicated hems and/or embellishments come at an additional cost.

Bridal Alterations Collections: ​

The cost of your alterations will depend upon the type of dress you've purchased
as well as the type of alterations needed to make the dress enhance your figure. 

BRIDAL ALTERATIONS COLLECTION #1:
​Starts at $1200.00

Includes:

• Shoulder Adjustment
• Bra Cups
• Sides/Hip Adjustment
• Hem: Unlimited layers with lace/beaded embellishments or trim
• Custom Bustle
• 1 custom add on (if needed)
• Steaming of Gown and Veil

If your dress:

• ​has a skirt with many layers​ ( e.g. ballgown, mermaid)
• has trim, lace, or beading
• needs to be altered/resized in the bodice, bust, and/or hip area

If you want:

• a custom add on: e.g. sleeves, corset back, bodice lining, modesty panel, internal corset

BRIDAL ALTERATIONS COLLECTION #2:
​Starts at $700 (Beaded or Lace dresses: $800-$900)

Includes:

• Shoulder Adjustment OR Bra Cups
• Two of the following: Bodice, Hip, Bust adjustment
• Hem: Unlimited layers with lace/beaded embellishments or trim
• Custom Bustle
• Steaming of gown and veil

Other alterations or custom add ons provided at an additional cost

If your dress has one or all of the following:

• a skirt with 2-4 layers ( e.g. ballgown, A-line, mermaid)
• lace only on the hemline OR lace/beading on the bodice dress,
• a need to be resized in one-two areas (bodice/hip/bust)

BRIDAL ALTERATIONS COLLECTION #3:
​Starts at $500.00 (Minimally Embellished Dresses: $600)

Includes:

• Shoulder/Strap/Sleeve Adjustment OR Bra Cups
• Hem: Two layers with minimal lace/beaded embellishments or trim
• Custom Bustle
• Steaming of gown and veil

Other alterations or custom add ons provided at an additional cost

If your dress has one or all of the following:

• minimal embellishments that would need to be removed (and reapplied) while altering the dress
• ​no lace or trim on the hemline
• a good fit in the bodice/hip/bust area
