Pictured below are dresses I have altered for weddings that occurred in 2019, 20, & 21. The alterations might include a hem, taking in the sides of the dress, shortening the straps, adding sleeves, or adding a bustle to name a few.

When Sara came to me, her dress was too small! (Yep... a mix-up at the bridal shop.) So, I completely rebuilt the back of the dress. I also traded in that zipper for some beautiful buttons.
I love a dramatic picture! ----------------------->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Reeja (on the right) came to me with a beautiful ballgown. It needed to be reshaped at the hips, hemmed (lots of lace, folks) and of course, bustled. I was so pleased with the end result. Sparks flew as she got married on the Fourth of July! |

Updating Her Mother's Wedding DressShannon came to me with her mom's dress from the 80's (complete with those big puffy sleeves). I also happened to have a vintage gown (donated to me from a dear family friend) from the 50's sitting in my spare room closet. That dress had trim on it in the form of knife-pleats (very skinny pleats). I used that lace to trim Shannon's dress around the bottom and on the custom-made sleeves that were added. I also placed over 140 buttons trailing down the back. ---->>>
Mini-Mony! |
Alyssa (left) like many brides during 2020 was having a mini-mony. She brought me this fun pleated dress. It had long sleeves and she really didn't want to sweat on her wedding day. I shorted the lace on the sleeves which resulted in creating a beautiful eyelash trim. I also took in the sides so she wasn't swimming in her dress. She looks so pretty! (and don't you LOVE that pleated skirt?

Creating a Dream Dress for my Daughter
Below is an example of some of the extra touches I can do to add to the beauty or originality to your wedding gown. My daughter (Blayre) fell in love with a Maggie Sottero sample sale dress. After she purchased it, she told me she wanted pearls added to it and she felt like "something was missing." I created a low back and I added over 300 pearls to the dress. I also placed a chiffon ruffle across the sweetheart neckline to make it look like a french bustier! The dress was heavy, so I added an internal corset to keep it from slipping. I also removed the zipper and added functional buttons (from MY bridal gown) and loops to the dress. The coolest part about all of this is that her gown was a completely unique reflection of her ... and her wedding was chosen to be featured in The Knot! How exciting!
... and don't forget the bustle!
I LOVE to create bustles that are unique and
match the style of your dress.
